DEAR NANCY
PROM IN CREATIVE WAYS
Dear Nancy,
How do I ask someone to Prom in a creative way?
Sincerely,
Anonymous
Dear Anonymous,
Asking people to prom in big ways has become very popular in recent years. Invitations can include anything from riding in on a horse or making amazing videos to impress your favorite celebrity. Although these “proposals” can be crazy and exciting, there are less extravagant but equally thoughtful ways to ask your significant other, best friend, or new crush to what could be one of the greatest memories from high school careers.
First, think about the person you want to ask. Ask yourself what their hobbies are or maybe think about inside jokes that have kept you both laughing for years. And from there, there are many ways you can go about this. Think about asking them with simple flowers to incorporating some of their personality and other things they love into posters, videos, or more tangible items that remind you of that special person.
Sincerely,
Nancy

Staying motivated for school is tough; I myself have struggled with doing so. Here are a few tips for staying motivated over these next few weeks of school.
- Focus on classes that are most important, not so much those that are easier for you. While it may sound better to finish the easy homework first, try tackling the hard assignments first and finishing the easier assignments afterwards.
- Have friends and family around you who support you! It may get annoying if your parents tell you every night to do your homework, but the sooner you do it, the sooner they’ll stop. Or try to find friends that will help you out if you need help - peer tutors can go a long way!
- Make sure to get enough sleep! Not being tired definitely helps with your motivation to do things. This is difficult for most insomniacs, so try setting a certain time every night to put away any electronics and get cozy in bed.
- Speaking of setting a time, set a certain time every night to tackle homework! This has helped me in the past, and if homework assignments start to stump you, take a 10 minute break and do something that relaxes you
